How to share a video to WordPress

Use this technique to post video content to your WordPress blog, making WordPress the destination of your social media posts

When sharing video, you can use your Wordpress blog as the landing page where the video player is displayed and refer to it through your corresponding posts to Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. This is done by publishing to your WordPress blog and to your social media networks all at once.

Here's how to configure your WordPress connection so that the video properly embeds into your blog and is linked appropriately when shared to social media.

To post videos to your WordPress

Under Manage Networks, click into your WordPress connection.

Under "When posting to this blog," select "Publish Immediately." This will ensure that the video is published on your WordPress blog, and that a URL is generated that points to your blog.

Under "Display on Microsite," make sure to select "No, do not show items in this network on the microsite." This will ensure that the video is published directly to WordPress, instead of being published to your microsite.

Make sure to save any changes to your WordPress connection.

When you share a video to WordPress and to your social media connections all at the same time, leads who click into your post in the social media feeds will see the video hosted on your WordPress site. With this configuration, leads will not be redirected to your microsite.

To post videos to your Microsite

If you would like leads to be sent to your microsite when they click into your posted video on social media, simply choose "Yes, show items in this network on the microsite." This option will embed the video in your microsite, instead of in your WordPress site. Leads who click into your social posts will be redirected to your microsite.
